Field of Interest Fund for chica project.
The Boston Foundation.
In June 2022, the Board of Directors of The Boston Foundation approved $1,027,000 in one-year grants to organizations whose work align with one of their field of interest funds–supporting older adults, people with disabilities, girls and women, foster care and adoption, environmental justice, and youth education and music! As you know, here at #chicaproject, we are an incubator of BIPOC powerhouse women so that more Brown and Black chicas–of every culture and ethnicity–can reach their potential.
Fun fact: Since receiving an Open Door Grant from the Boston Foundation in 2019, we have more than tripled our revenue to become a million-dollar organization–and we continue to grow! “The Boston Foundation’s funding has helped our programming grow its roots deeper into building the capacity to bring forth a talented team that will execute a brand-new vision and take programming to the next level,” says Director of Programs Clauder Aspilaire. “We are grateful for their partnership and the thoughtfulness of their burden-less funding process."
These funds have allowed organizations like chica project, Partners for Youth with Disabilities, and The Boston Home to fulfill their missions and improve the lives of people in Greater Boston. Thank you for your partnership and support–we are grateful for your grant of $28,000–this will be valuable in sustaining our work to empower and advocate for the next generation of young women leaders–living out our dream.
We are super grateful for community partners, such as The Boston Foundation who have helped us to serve over 3000 chicas since our birth, facilitate 170+ workshops to empower chicas and with those and successfully seen 100% of our chicas graduating high school and enrolling in college! chica project is very appreciative of your collaboration! Here’s a blog post to read more about this awesome achievement and about the other recipients' commitment to various interests. Thank you again for giving to and believing in our mission. Follow us, as we continue to believe in and work towards a youth-led approach towards holistic liberation.
