Spring has sprung, and new growth is flourishing! Just as the flowers bloom and the trees bear fresh leaves, many young Women of Color are ready to blossom into strong and confident leaders. At Chica Project, our mission to see young Women of Color thrive is deeply rooted in community. Through mentorship and skill-building, our programming is designed to intentionally meet chicas where they are so that they feel loved and supported in their journey of self-discovery. However, our community is more than just our team members and mentors. It includes everyone who wants to be a part of seeing young Women of Color flourish! A seed on its own does not easily grow into a flower. It needs a healthy environment: soil, sunlight, and water. Chica Project strives to provide a rich soil where chicas feel safe and protected. We also encourage warm sunlight by advocating for self-love and mental wellness. The water that trickles down through the soil to feed the seeds is our community’s support. With every chica bloom that we witness, we know that it is only possible through the help of our community.
