Welcoming Chica Project’s new Director of Programs.
Give a warm welcome to Shanice Douglas!
That’s right! Our new Director of Programs is here!
Please help us celebrate Shanice Douglas as Chica Project’s new Director of Programs! With 10 years of experience in youth development, Shanice brings knowledge and energy to Chica Project’s next season of programming. She is a Boston native and first-generation Caribbean-American (Jamaican & Puerto Rican) with a passion for dismantling systems of oppression by cultivating partnerships, networks, resources, and trauma-informed spaces to center and empower marginalized communities. She has spent the last decade of her career developing lesson plans, constructing curriculums, and spearheading programs for youth and young adults in and around Boston.
As Director of Programs, Shanice will work closely with Chica Project’s leadership team and programs team to construct robust and thoughtful programs, all the while channeling our core values so that every chica has the best chance to thrive. Through Shanice’s leadership, Chica Project will be one step closer to achieving our dream to see a world with doors wide open for Girls of Color everywhere. As Chica Project enters its 13th year of uplifting and empowering Women of Color, we now embark on a mission to build collective power. With Shanice’s expertise, we are more than excited to see what the future holds!
