The Chica Project familia is growing. Say hello to our new board members!
With a new year comes new growth. As such, we are excited to announce the newest members of Chica Project’s Board of Directors: Aadil Z. Sulaiman and Melanie Torres! Our Board of Directors is composed of many talented and knowledgeable individuals who all share the same vision to see the next generation of leaders set up for success. We are so excited to have Aadil and Melanie join our familia! Their leadership will help guide Chica Project as we pursue our mission to see every young Woman of Color thrive.
Aadil Z. Sulaiman currently serves as the Vice President of Youth and Social Justice at Commonwealth Corporation managing youth, youth with disability, and returning citizen grant programming across the state of Massachusetts. Aadil has an extensive career in national youth empowerment and youth workforce development, including time at Year Up and Roca. He holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Economics from Northeastern University and a Nonprofit Leadership and Management certificate from Tufts University through the Institute for Nonprofit Practice.

Melanie Torres currently works at a family foundation, overseeing a statewide community capital grant program. Prior to this role, Melanie spent most of her career working in nonprofits in community engagement and immigration legal services in Massachusetts. She has a certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from Boston University.
