COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM
What We Do
Chica Project’s community based program meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month from October – June. It empowers our participants to celebrate culture and uplift each other, while we networking to build community, and rise as beautiful enlightened young women.
Focusing on leadership development & cultural identity exploration through group mentoring, we are a cohort of resilient thinkers, dreamers, and believers. Our community based program serves young women in the state of MA ages 14-18. It is not a requirement to be enrolled in school for to attend because we recognize the many different paths that can lead a young woman to Chica Project. Join us on this journey!
How We Do It
In a cohort of approximately 25-30 young women from all over MA, Chica Project’s staff and mentors engage participants in thoughtful activities and discussions that may not be available to them in school or at home, or in their communities…until now! This program runs both in Lynn and Boston which are the cities that most of our young women are from. Through this program, participants will begin to build a deeper sense of community, increase their sense of engagement through exposure to enrichment activities, and prepare for college and the workforce.
Our program develops passionate and driven leaders. As a Latina and other Women of Color oriented initiative, we are open to all young women, regardless of race or ethnicity.
